Goodbye, Twitter

I use Twitter through Talon for Android and all this weekend it has been failing to load any content. Evidently I’m not alone.

According to some sites (The Information, MacStories), this is by design. Which I guess I can understand, if your goals are short-term (and nothing has convinced me that they aren’t). This impacts users that aren’t seeing ads, boosted tweets, or other revenue sources.

This is probably the final nail for me. I have never been a fan of the actual Twitter android app and I’ve been teetering on the edge of bailing on twitter anyway. It’ll be sad not to see updates from people but I’ll work to follow them on other platforms.

What is this?

Considering that the previous iteration of this blog remained unchanged for about 3 years, I wouldn’t expect frequent updates. If I do get things moving though, here’s what to expect:

Music

I’ve been listening to a lot of good music lately, and I’d love to start putting some posts up with recommendations.

My Setup

I always am interested to see what kind of various workspaces and tools people use on a day-to-day basis. I’d like to have some posts related to:

Every Day Carry – what I literally carry on me every day.
“Every” Day “Carry” – what’s in my bag that I take to work (or used to, when I went to an office).
My physical computer setup(s) – what’s on my desk.
How I use the computer – my terminal setup (Carapace), my window manager (i3), etc.
etc.
